Just another day in paradise

Happy May everyone!

I can't believe it has been a month since I last posted but things have been a little crazy here. What kept me away? My thesis! I finally decided on a topic and submitted my proposal the day before I left for Mallorca. My working topic is Are there different motivators for men and women when volunteering? I will explore the different motivation factors and through surveys and interviews determine if they are different for men and women. I would LOVE for you all to take the survey once I have completed it and pass it on. The more answers the better. Alright enough about that school work, lets talk about my trip to Mallorca. This post is primarily pictures because the pictures pretty much tell the story of my trip.

Sarah and I left Bad Honnef around 2 on Friday to catch out flight out of Frankfurt Hahn airport at 5:30. We were flying Ryan Air who are very strict about their baggage policy. Luckily our luggage was fine on our way there. The flight there was a little bumpy but that was all forgotten when we were flying over the island I saw how beautiful it was. That is when I really got excited for the trip. Mallorca is the largest Balearic Island which is part of Spain.

Once we arrived and got our luggage we took the bus to the city where Sarah's friend Carina met us and took us to her apartment. We decided to stay in that night and make dinner since it was nine by the time we made it to the apartment.

Saturday we went to the store and bought food for the week before heading out to see the city. We spent the day shopping and walking around Palma. There were some cute markets around the city which we stopped at. We decided to enjoy refreshing mojitos while at the one market. It was delicious and mojitos ended up being the drink of trip. That night we headed out to some bars and clubs. We had a great time with some of Carina's friends. It actually turns out that one of her friends in Palma goes to IUBH which is pretty funny.

Sunday we didn't wake up until late since we arrived home after 5 a.m. It was in the 50's and windy that day so we bundled up and headed to lunch. We met up with some friends and spent the rest of the day seeing more of Palma.

On Monday Carina had to work so Sarah and I took the bus to Port de Sóller for the day. It was so beautiful. I can't even tell you how amazing it was. We just walked around the port and explored for a few hours before taking a 100 year old train to the city of Sóller. We ate a late lunch at this great restaurant and got lost walking around before heading back to Palma for the night. I will let the pictures do the talking. :)

Tuesday we all went to Playa de Palma for a beach day. It was beautiful! After the beach we went out to dinner and then to a few bars. The pictures explain it all :)

Wednesday was our last day so we decided to go to another beach in Illetas, Mallorca. It was absolutely beautiful. The water was crystal clear and the scenery was just amazing. The whole trip was so much fun and everything was just beautiful. I think I have used that word at least a dozen times in this post but that is because it really was just absolutely beautiful. I hope to go back some day, especially since I forgot to buy my souvenir shot glass!

I hope you enjoyed the pictures from this trip. I know there are a lot here already but if you want to see all of them take a look at my album on facebook. The day after we left Mallorca I went to Budapest but I will have to post about that later. I need to work on these papers some more.
